Long walk to freedom

Mi novia alemana vivió un año en Sudáfrica, y esa experiencia le cambió la vida. Hoy me ha regalado, en la víspera de Sant Jordi, la autobiografía de Nelson Mandela, que llegó a presidente de una gran nación desde 1994 a 1999, después de 27 años en prisión.

Por su postura política reconciliadora, logró el premio Nobel de la Paz, entre otros reconocimientos a su inabarcable humanidad.


Education is the great engine of human development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farmworkers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.
